Starting XI

Dean Henderson Was rarely tested required before the break until called into action by an opponent's curling effort. One well-timed sliding intervention against Qazim Laci highlighted excellent reading of the game. 6/10

The debutant Examined against Albania’s primary attacker through Hoxha. Operated through the middle early on but moved out wide after a teammate was introduced. 7/10

The defender Pushed up the pitch on the ball, something he's known for before. On occasion lacked urgency in possession and the approach abandoned after the break. 6

The tall defender A nuisance from dead balls, as always, could serve as another option to Stones at the back instead of alongside him. A careless pass later in the match nearly resulted in the first goal for the visitors. 6

The young full-back A further composed showing by the 20-year-old following his first cap versus another side. Saka failed to make full advantage of an exquisite flick over the Albania defence. The role is firmly his at this stage. 7/10

The newcomer His first start with the national team. A bit loose in possession however his whipped corners posed a danger. An effective pace-controller for the coach to call upon versus defensive opponents. Booked for a rash foul. 6

Declan Rice Deliveries from corners and free-kicks were dangerous. Enjoyed license to drift on the left yet found himself offside upon receiving with a chance to score. Awarded a merited rest after an hour. Six

The star midfielder Operated in an advanced role out wide and contributed with the hard yards. Displayed glimpses of brilliance but mishit an effort high. Withdrawn towards the end for Rogers, his rival, after receiving a caution. Seven

The winger Had the team's top opening in the opening period, his strike excellently kept out by Thomas Strakosha. As a teammate holding position, he had to provide width down the right side although his balls from the touchline were inconsistent. Substituted with 15 to go. 6

Harry Kane The difference-maker with his two more strikes for his country. The first a trademark poacher’s finish while the second an excellent headed goal following a clever run off his defender. Now 32, he’s only getting better and the side have every chance next summer when he's in the team. 8

The attacker Found it tough to make an impact on the left flank. Was presented with a decent opportunity when set up by Bellingham however Strakosha kept it out. His replacement had a greater effect when substituted. 5
