Passionate fans of Ariana Grande are demanding that a man who jumped a barricade and seized the celebrity during yesterday's Wicked: For Good premiere be taken into custody or removed from Singapore.

A circulating clip depicts the individual from Australia pushing past media personnel and rushing toward Grande while the cast proceeded down a yellow carpet surrounded by onlookers.

Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo immediately wrested the surprised actress away from Mr Wen, who was seen being led away of the event by security officers.

Mr Wen posted on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "free after being detained", though legal records revealed that he was set to be present on the next day. It is not clear if he was charged.

History of Event Invasions

This is not an isolated incident for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Controversial Figure", has invaded a performance. His Instagram account contains recordings of him interrupting other star-studded functions, including rushing the platform at the artist's Sydney performance in earlier this year and in a comparable manner during The Chainsmokers concert in the same location last December.

"Steps should be implemented enforced against him as this is clearly a punishable act," stated an Instagram commenter, in a message to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his act.

"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" another Instagram user wrote.

Supporters Show Disapproval Over Grande's Safety

Many supporters accused Mr Wen for "triggering past anxiety" Grande, who had spoken of dealing with trauma-related anxiety after a suicide bomb attack at the finale of her spring 2017 show in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and wounding hundreds.

"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" commented one more comment on Instagram.

Several attendees also faulted security officers at the Thursday event for not being vigilant enough; while some demanded social media platforms to remove Mr Wen's content.

Response and Event Details

In footage shared widely, Grande appeared shocked when she was touched by the intruder. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted reassuring her while Mr Wen was escorted away by guards.

Grande has not issued a statement on the situation, and the rest of the event proceeded as normal.

Many of supporters had gathered in a sea of green and pink at the Wicked: For Good regional debut in a Singapore shopping center, including a number who had queued for as long as eight hours before it began.

The film, to be premiered on the 21st of November, is the second of a dual adaptation of the well-known Broadway and West End musical Wicked, which centers on the surprising bond between two distinct witches.

The musical itself is a spin-off of the 1900 story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who acts as the character Glinda Glinda, was adorned in a champagne pink sequin dress at the gathering while Erivo, who plays the villainous character, wore a sleek black dress decorated with roses.

They were accompanied by co-star Jeff Goldblum.

The initial film, Wicked, was the top-earning motion picture of the previous year in the UK, and scored 10 Oscar nominations, securing a pair for best costume and production design.
