The Porcine Pardon: Pig Named Six Seven Spared by Miami Dade County Leader.

Although not quite at the identical stature as pardoning Thanksgiving turkeys, but the mayor of Miami-Dade experienced a Donald Trump moment this week by ceremoniously saving the life of a swine named Six Seven.

Daniella Levine Cava executed the holiday gesture at the Cuban-style Latin Cafe 2000 in the center of Miami’s iconic Little Havana neighborhood.

“The swine has done no wrong. Clemency is justified for her. She has committed zero crimes,” stated the mayor in a speech with clear references to the sheer volume of executive clemencies issued since the onset of a current administration.

“If we disregard eating half a dozen apples per day,” the mayor added. “I hope she experiences a long and happy life away from worry.”

This ceremony, either celebrating or rejecting the region’s Hispanic tradition of consuming swine during the holidays, was established to emulate the annual turkey pardoning at the White House.

The animal, contributed by a first responder, was given its name from the current slang trend of young people yelling “six-seven” – deriving from a hip-hop line – often for no discernable reason. The trend became so ubiquitous that a leading lexicon site recently made “six-seven” its top term for the year.

A Peaceful Retirement

Six Seven the pig is now set to enjoy its days at a rural sanctuary “distant from barbecues and spits”, according to the event’s official press release.

“The annual pig pardon has become one of our favorite ways to open the festive period,” said Eric Castellanos, in a decidedly positive message.

“It embodies the character of Miami: happy, multicultural, and based in heritage that unite the community. Annually, we are delighted to mark heritage and mercy in a way only Miami can.”

Participants enjoyed a plant-based fare of spinach fritters and strong coffee as they celebrated the swine's new lease on life.
